Medicine Across Cultural Boundaries

In order to make the right diagnosis and decide on the right treatment, a doctor must be able to correctly “read” what patients describe. This is particularly difficult when patients come from different cultural backgrounds. Every culture has its own approach to pain, illness, the role of the family, adherence to therapies and so on.

A new seminar on intercultural patient conversations will provide doctors and medical practice staff with practical guidance. The first of these events takes place on 24 June in Linz.

Transcultural Campaigning developed it together with the experienced intercultural expert Birgit Hochreiter and successfully tested it.
