Each year in spring and November the Austrian Center for Peace organises a course preparing international officials for UN peace missions. This Course on Comprehensive Protection of Civilians always brings a multinational group of mid- to senior level civilian, military and police experts to the beautiful medieval Schlaining Castle.
TC Director Melita H. Sunjic (front row, 5th from the left) has been part of the team of lecturers for seven years. She is briefing participants on the protection of refugees and internally displaced persons in armed conflict. Just like the previous dozen courses, this year’s November Course was again attended by persons from several continents. They return home with a UN Certificate and the expectation to be deployed soon in a peace mission.
