Transcultural Campaigning started a 5-month research project mapping the francophone African diaspora in Germany and Austria. It is mostly funded by the German Government with a contribution from an Austrian governmental think tank.
We are trying to understand motivating and enabling factors of their migration to non-French speaking countries as well as the circumstances of everyday life. We also ask the diaspora how they think sustainable return assistance should look like for rejected asylum-seekers. The team will be reinforced by two seasoned experts on African Migration and native French speakers, Shannon Kahnert and Corinne Perthuis.
